I can't connect to my own Minecraft server

Today, I made a survival server for my friend and I. I did everything to setup, white-listed myself and my friend, and configured my server properties. I used my one ip and it worked fine, I was oped and can do things. However, I can't connect now, only an hour later, it just says "java:cannot connect". Please help. P.S. I used Utorrent instead of port forwarding and this is a vanilla server.

Ensure the port forwarding rule points to the local IP address that the server is hosted on.
Often routers will change the local IP addresses.

I hate how everyone always offers the same suggestions.
If you port forwarded correctly it means you have a dynamic IP address. This means that every time you log on to your internet you're assigned a new IP address. Sometimes your hosting provider even changes it while you're on the internet.

You should contact your hosting provider and ask them if they can change your IP to a static IP. Static IPs stay the same unless you manually change them.
